'Backpack Full of Cash' Film Screening - Te Whanganui-a-Tara
Event description
Join us at Light House Cuba for a free screening of the film Backpack Full of Cash, narrated by Matt Damon. This riveting documentary explores the real cost of privatising public schools in the USA, and the dangers of charter schools.
We are partnering with UnionAid to raise funds to support their solidarity work with unions around the Pacific and Asia. We will be running a fundraising raffle on the night, and a UnionAid stall will be selling solidarity coffee and cookbooks - please consider contributing to their work.
Arrive from 5:00pm for networking and speakers, raffle drawn at 5.45pm, and the film will start at 6.00pm.
This event is run by the PPTA Wellington Committee, and is open to the public. For more information about our Standing with Public Education, visit charterschools.co.nz.
