Description

The City of Fremantle and Centre for Stories are proud to announce the return of the Backyard Truth-Telling Series —a multi-site storytelling program bringing powerful and important place-based truth-telling into the backyards of Walyalup/Fremantle.  We are pleased to announce this year features a unique partnership with the National Trust of Western Australia as special event hosts at Samson House.

Backyard Truth-Telling showcases emerging and established Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australian storytellers, sharing their lived experiences in their own voices and in their own way.

Across three weekends in May, audiences are invited into intimate backyard settings in and around Walyalup/Fremantle to listen to stories that speak to the resilience and self-determination of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, confront difficult truths, hidden histories, and reimagined futures.
