ABOUT THE BOOK

‘If there is enough money involved, truth becomes a tradeable commodity. Like gold, it is malleable; it can be melted down and recast without losing its value.’

The story follows Travis Somerland, a man well-acquainted with danger who finds himself entangled in a ruthless power struggle at Montechino. Montechino is part palace, part fortress, and the deeply secluded estate of the Claptons - a family of ultra-wealthy, modern-day robber barons who operate under a singular icy ethos: business is arithmetic, not morality.

When the Claptons launch a massive challenge against one of the country's most formidable rival families, Travis is sucked straight into a generational war. As the bodies start dropping and corporate secrets unravel, truth becomes a tradeable commodity that can be melted down and recast like gold.

Described as Succession and The Big Short meeting The Great Gatsby, it is a high-octane thriller about whether one man can survive a dynastic blood feud to bring justice to an unjust world.
