Let's help our cyclone affected farmers get back on their feet!

Inspired by Al Brown's Cooking Up A Storm initiative, Baking Up A Storm will be a fun night out with a bake-off and cake auction, a quiz, raffles, live music and a BBQ feast!

Legendary baker & TV host, Allyson Gofton, will be judging the cakes before they're sold to the highest bidder.

Hosted at the beautifully renovated Horahora Memorial Hall, we'll be raising funds for two organisations:

1. Rural Women New Zealand who are on-the-ground in Gisborne helping farmers get back on their feet; and

2. The Kōanga Institute in Wairoa (run by Kay Baxter) which does important work to save New Zealand's heritage food plants, and teaching communities about food security.

Tickets are $30 and include an incredible BBQ feast sponsored by Momona Farm and Tomtit Farm.

Drinks BYO. All guests and ticket holders must be of legal drinking age.

CAKE AUCTION: Please email the organisers if you wish to submit a cake (or cupcakes) for the Cake Auction. Don't forget Allyson will be judging a 'best in show' cake before they are all auctioned off, so don those star baker aprons and whip up something show-stoppingly good.

Please bring cash. EFTPOS will be available for payments but not for getting cash out.

This event is being run by the Soil Sisters (a Waikato group of female chefs, growers, farmers, and foodies) and the Horahora Memorial Hall. All donations (and proceeds from ticket sales) will be split 50/50 between the two organisations.
