'Life in the Old Dog' in association with 90's House Music Lovers Down Under are back with their Summer event.

Our day/night party will take over the "Car Park' at the Inn Hotel in the centre of Geelong. This beer garden offers a unique space for a large crowd to party with a private outside bar and is completely weather proof, being that it is under a marquee, which can be changed dependent on the conditions.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

Our 8 DJ's have all experienced the best of the White Island (Ibiza) and will take you on a musical journey from the halcyon days of the Summer of Love in 89 and encapsulating the magic of clubs like Space, Amnesia, Pasha & Es Paradis.

The music will be eclectic, with a mixture of soulful house, Balearic anthems, breaks, melodic techno and piano house. So hopefully, something for everyone and definitely not one to miss for anyone who partied on the terrace at Space, took in a sunset at Cafe Del Mar or witnessed the madness of Manumission at Ku Club.

Unlike other events, there will also be a mixture of digital DJ's and vinyl only DJ's

DAN FULHAM - DUBLIN, IRELAND

Dan wasn't lucky enough to party through the nineties but fell in love with the era after witnessing the House legends Graeme Park and Mike Pickering deliver an 88/89 Hacienda set at Shiiine On Festival and he was hooked. Since then, Dan has played at events across Ireland, the UK, Ibiza and Australia, sharing stages with the likes of Slipmatt, K-Klass, Utah Saints, Orbital and Marshall Jefferson. He's been the resident DJ for Shiiine On's 'Rave On' series, a regular at Slip Back in Time from 2022-2025 and toured the UK in 2023 as the support DJ for the 90's Indie group EMF. Expect an eclectic mix of house, breaks, forgotten gems and even some new tracks that still carry that old school energy.

MATT KAVANAGH - KENT, UK

For anyone at Balearic Beats at Torquay Surf Lifesavers Club, you will remember that Matt absolutely rocked his set in the beer garden, as evidenced in a lot of the footage from the event. He brings significant DJ experience & knowledge of all things house. Matt has presented his own House show on 'Kiss FM Australia & he also produces his own tracks on LTBH Records, so expect a couple to drop in his set. He also loves nothing better than a remix of classic 90's tracks to take you a new journey on the dance floor.

CLIVE BROOKES - LONDON, UK

Another one who witnessed the Summer of Love as it happened and has been on his musical journey ever since. Clive has become a firm favorite with the 'Life in the Old Dog' faithful. Clive always brings the happy vibe with his uplifting house numbers but expect some big beefy tunes to form part of his set and the crowd are never disappointed.

G I JAYNE - BIRMINGHAM, UK

It is great to get a female DJ back on board after her successful sets at Both Balearic Beats, Torquay & Thawed and someone with the same passion as us blokes for electronic music. Jayne will bring the vocal vibe to get you dancing round your hand bags (and that's just the blokes). Her experience goes back to DJ'ing at Miss Money Penny's in Birmingham when it was one of the UK super clubs and if you think Defected tunage, you'll be on the right track!

RICH-E-D - SOUTH EAST LONDON, UK

It's the second time for Rich playing for 'Life in the Old Dog' after his great set at Thawed in July. One of our DJ's playing vinyl only, and he brings the energy akin to an Energizer Bunny! Rich has vast experience DJ'ing in the 90's scene in London and his love of vinyl has brought him back to playing out again and to share his large collection with the masses.

NAPIER FLOWERS - BERKSHIRE, UK

Another second outing with the crew for Napier on the vinyl decks and yet another from the British 90's scene. Napier, although living down South, played mostly around the Manchester & Midlands music scenes. He also has a vast eclectic taste in dance music, so you will be in for a treat while you party on a Summer afternoon.

MERRIFIELD - WARRINGTON, UK

First time playing out with 'Life in the Old Dog' and another who has an extremely eclectic taste in dance music. He was a regular at the legendary Hacienda in the late 80's and attended the Blackburn Raves, which were one of the main launching pads for the Acid House movement in the UK. This set the tone for his DJ sets, working mainly around the Warrington/Greater Manchester areas. His varied vinyl collection will be a perfect fit for the early part of Balearic Beats & expect some ambient bliss.

HOOLY - GLASGOW, UK

Formerly a backing dancer with the dance group Yosh and played at some of the UK's biggest clubs back in the 90's, like Cream in Liverpool. Created the 90's House Music Lovers Down Under Page/Group and is responsible for a large portion of the tunage that is uploaded. His sets are eclectic and loves nothing more than a remix of an old classic!
