Event description

On Thursday 20th April, 2023, our CEO, Maria O’Halloran interviews two very passionate leaders from the education sector – Christine Leighton – Rector at St Andrew’s College and Mark Wilson – Executive Principal at Auckland’s Kristin school.

Christine has been Rector (Principal) of St Andrew’s College for the last 16 years becoming the first female in this position since the College was founded in 1917.   Having spent 41 years in education Christine has taught in a variety of New Zealand schools and in her present role Christine is also, among other things, a member of the St Andrew’s College Board of Governors.

Since 2019 Mark has been the Executive Principal at Kristin an independent co-educational school of just over 1800 students and around 315 staff.  Prior to this, Mark was the Principal of Cashmere High School. Mark has his Masters in Education (First Class Hons) and was a Woolf Fisher Fellowship recipient in 2018 - attending a programme at Harvard University.

Various topics will be covered including - the “business” of education, leadership during a crisis and the importance of good communication.
