Calling all Ballarat history buffs and enthusiasts! Join us to delve into the stories of Ballarat’s past.  

Each month we will explore a new topic about Ballarat’s history. You’ll have the chance to view materials from Ballarat Libraries Heritage Collection, including photos and ephemera. Come along and share your knowledge or learn something new about our wonderful city and its surrounds.  

History chat is informal and relaxed. 

Join us to celebrate Melbourne Rare Book Week as we discuss some of the hidden treasures in Ballarat Libraries’ Rare Book Collection and conservation work we have undertaken in the collection. Share the stories of rare books you may have on your own shelves. We will have the 1862 Ballarat Library Catalogue available for you to view.
