Projects

Project: Ballarat Base Hospital (Stage 3)
The Victorian Government is investing $595 million to redevelop and expand the Ballarat Base Hospital. The redevelopment will deliver a new emergency department, a women and children’s hub, state-of-the-art theatre suite and an extra 100 inpatient and short stay beds. A new and expanded critical care floor will bring together operating theatres, procedure rooms, an expanded intensive care unit, endoscopy suites and consulting rooms. This will deliver capacity for an additional 4,000 surgeries every year. Once completed, the upgraded hospital will have the capacity to treat at least 18,000 more emergency patients and an extra 14,500 inpatients per year.

Built has been appointed to deliver the final stage of the massive $595 million Ballarat Base Hospital redevelopment. This stage will deliver the new multi-level tower which features a new ground-floor emergency department, a women's and children's hub, a world-class theatre suite and an extra 100 inpatient and short-stay beds.

Project: Eureka Stadium
Development Victoria is looking forward to delivering a range of important upgrades at Eureka Stadium and the wider Eureka Sports Precinct as part of the Victorian Government’s Regional Sports Infrastructure Program.

Last week’s announcement of the Ballarat Sports Package was held at Eureka Stadium, and has given the community their first glimpse of artist’s impression for the stadium based off the early schematic designs.

The upgrades will include 5,000 new permanent seats to the stadium, a new athletics track and better accessibility across the Eureka Sports Precinct.

“These upgrades to Eureka Stadium and the wider precinct will provide important infrastructure that the Ballarat community can enjoy for future generations.” said Development Victoria’s Group Head Civic Infrastructure, Hannah Clement.

The upgrades will boost local jobs, businesses and attract more visitors to the Ballarat region, with works set to begin later this year. The Expression of Interest for a Head Contractor to deliver the Eureka Sports Precinct upgrades has also been released with details on the procurement process available through the Buying for Victoria website.

Project: Community Safety Building Authority (CSBA)
The Victorian Government's Community Safety Building Authority (CSBA) has been established to design, procure, build, and upgrade the infrastructure needed to keep communities safe. With 57 projects worth $2.1 billion under active management CSBA provides end-to-end project management and delivery of Victoria’s new prisons, youth justice centres, court and custody facilities, emergency services facilities and public safety measures on behalf of the Department of Justice and Community Safety.

Program of works: CSBA is seeking to understand regional capabilities to assist in the design and construction of its upcoming investment pipeline, including the construction of seven CFA stations across the State located in Newborough, Pyalong, Wyndham Vale, Metcalfe, Serpentine, Riddells Creek and The Basiny. This is an opportunity to meet the Fire Services team within CSBA that manages and delivers infrastructure projects on behalf of the Country Fire Authority (CFA).

The Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) will deliver a 90km orbital rail line, starting with a segment from Cheltenham to Box Hill (stage 1).
