Banyule's Urban Food Strategy – Second Community Co-design workshop

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Banyule City Council, in partnership with Sustain the Australian Food Network, is developing an Urban Food Strategy. The proposed goals of the Strategy are to create, enhance, and celebrate Banyule’s food system, and work towards ensuring that everyone in Banyule has access to healthy, nutritious, and sustainable food at all times. From October 2022 to Feb 2023, over 600 Banyule residents, and council staff shared their views on priority themes and action areas for the Urban Food Strategy through surveys, kitchen table talks, focus groups and public pop-up engagements.

We now invite people who live, work and / or study in Banyule to participate in our second community co-design workshop to help shape the Urban Food Strategy. We acknowledge that the community holds great knowledge about the local food system and a passion for vibrant, healthy, equitable and sustainable food futures and we enlist your help in reviewing the draft Strategy outline and developing the action plan to accompany it.

In this second co-design workshop for the Banyule Urban Food Strategy, we will present the consultation findings and unpack the key themes and recommended priority focus areas for action in the Strategy. Attendees will be sent a briefing backing including the full consultation report summarising our findings and the draft Strategy outline. To keep up to date with the process please visit the Shaping Banyule: Urban Food Strategy page.
