Event description

This class is a great one if you are just starting on your leathercraft journey.

You will be taught the basics of working with leather, learn about different leathers, tools and consumables that are available. Once you have completed this lesson, you will definitely want to do more.

You will learn how to stamp with tools, dye and seal and finish edges on a bookmark and a coaster during the 5hr class.

This class includes all tutoring, tools and materials required to learn basic leathercrafting.

For safety participants must wear closed in footwear.

Located in Gatton in the Lockyer Valley, Bootstraps is an ex-service organization (ESO)charity, not-for-profit, offering psychosocial based leatherwork training and classes as a way to facilitate Veterans, Veteran Families, and all members of the community, to reconnect and regain or reinvigorate positive social community interaction.

Bootstraps is open to all, but as an ESO, training programs are prioritized for Veterans and their Families. Within Bootstraps a Veteran can relax with like-minded people and establish or reestablish connections with Family and the community. Within the walls of Bootstraps there is no rank or politics; Bootstraps’ is neutral territory.
