This Basic Workshop will run over two consecutive Saturdays...6th and 13th April 2024.

Participants will need to attend both Saturdays from 9.00am until approximately 5.00pm each day.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to get settled so we can start promptly at 9.00.

Lunch and morning & afternoon teas will be provided.

The Basic AVP workshop focuses on conflict management skills.

Workshops are experiential and assist participants in discovering new and creative ways of responding to conflict situations.

In a supportive and safe environment, participants explore strengths and skills within themselves that will enable them to deal with future conflict or potentially violent situations in a more constructive and pro-active manner.

Specifically, we focus on:

• Affirmation - Building self-esteem and trust.

• Communication - Improving both listening skills and assertive methods of expression.

• Community Building and Cooperation - Developing cooperative attitudes that avoid competitive conflicts.

• Creative Conflict Resolution - Getting in touch with the inner "Transforming Power" to manage potentially violent situations. Through role playing, participants learn new and creative ways to respond to conflict situations.
