Event description
The BASIC Assessment and Support Intensive Care course was initiated by a group of Intensive Care Specialists working in Hong Kong, New Zealand, Australia, and the UK.
BASIC is a course designed to teach some aspects of acute assessment and treatment of critically ill patients. It includes modules on ventilation, ABG interpretation, metabolic problems, shock management, and resuscitation. It includes both practical, hands-on stations and didactic lectures.
Duration: 2 days
What is included: Course registration, a hardcopy of the BASIC textbook, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and parking.
Audience: This course is for Doctors who have completed or are planning to complete a critical care rotation in Intensive Care, Emergency, and or Anaesthetics as a Resident or above. If you are an Intern in Emergency please do not apply for this course (i.e. within your first 12 months of employment in the medical field).
Requirements: Please note, you must meet the following criteria to attend this course:
- Pass the NBMLHD COVID-19 visitors check-in procedure. If you do not pass the check point your registration will be moved to the next course, pending availability.
