Doggie Heaven
In the hot, sweaty and dim bars of Meanjin you can find Doggie Heaven. In the dark pop and synths of the Hacienda you can find Doggie Heaven. In the footsteps of the New Wave and Post-Punk giants that so readily inspire them, you can find Doggie Heaven.
Diaspora The Explorer
Hauntingly beautiful dark melodic sounds, Diaspora The Explorer brings together an affection for lyrics and textural exploration while examining themes of lament and melancholic contemplation.
Old Home
Old Home is a swimming pool filled with ghosts, the ugly and catastrophic shattering of the cosmos, the breaking of bones and the burning of scarecrows in frightening ritual. It’s a vicious arterial bleed in the soul.
Pale Horsey
Meanjin death rock/trash rock.Music for hopelessness
Plnoir
Working in site specific installation, plnoir’s multimedia practice has evolved as a narrative form of emotional catharsis. Exploring her own subjective experience the artist examines, and is deeply influenced by feelings of anxiety, doubt, dysmorphia, and lost memory. Establishing an intimate and immersive platform of self-inquiry, the artist challenges the viewer to pause and explore their own intimate darkness within her work.
NÄ—ris
have been hiding away in their music room for years and are always writing and recording, but have recently felt the magic of sharing parts of their enigmatic world… Haunting acoustic-flavoured ballads, gauzy languorous vocals and reverb drenched electric guitar... Nėris move somewhere in between a space of warm, soft, gothic psychedelia rock with touches of folk, blues & country-noir... but like to let the music speak for itself.
