Basket Weaving for Beginners with Chameleon Arts & Fabrik Arts and Heritage
Event description
Come and submerge yourself into the artisan craft of coil weaving with local artist Claire Russell of Chameleon Arts hosted by Fabrik Arts and Heritage in the beautiful Adelaide Hills in Lobethal.Â
Learning the traditional art of coil basket weaving is a mindful and therapeutic practice that enables the participant to engage in an immersive craft while enjoying the outcome of creating a useful and sustainable finished product.
Basket weaving has an ancient history in many cultures as not only an art form traditionally practiced by women for practical use in home and harvesting.
No experience is needed and younger ones are encouraged to participate with supervision of an adult.Â
All natural and sustainable fibers are used in this workshop. With the use of minimal tools, all supplied in the cost of the class, each participant will walk away with the confidence to create beautiful and useful pieces upon completion.Â
There will be an opportunity to purchase more materials at the end of class if desired.
