Basket Weaving Workshop with Leisa

In this workshop, relax with us to create a hand-woven basket using natural processed sustainable materials including repurposed and recycled twines, raffia, Sari silk ribbon, and yarns allowing for decorative upcycling.
Under guidance from Leisa, weave your basket using a blend of Indian traditional inspired & contemporary weaving techniques. You'll leave with new-found weaving skills, lots of creative fun had, and your own basket too. No experience is needed.
Leisa Antonio-Hearps, the heart and soul behind Healing India Creative Arts, established in 2006 in Perth WA, is committed to sustainable artistry, contemporary creativity, and respectfully encompassing traditional Indian-inspired influences across her creative art practice.
Leisa enjoys facilitating multidisciplinary creative art workshops in our local community and she has been awarded Local community art awards for her designs in Basketry, Glass art, and Jewellery. With a rich background in fostering community through her studies in Social sciences combined with professional development and studies in dressmaking, and art, she always offers an inviting inclusive space for all to explore their artistic abilities while emphasizing the importance of environmental care.
Our weekly Farmer's Market will be happening during your workshop, so bring your shopping bags and pick up some fresh, organic produce from local growers while you're there.
