Event description

  • Saturday 21st June
  • 10am – 12pm (2hrs)
  • Rotunder (in front of Central Craft Store)
  • $90pp

Come and sit with women from Tjanpi Desert Wavers and learn how to make a basket. These workshops are relaxed, joyful gatherings – as much about connection and conversation as they are about learning new skills.

Workshops take place on canvas tarps laid on the ground, creating an inviting, communal space. Each artist is paired with a small group of around five participants, sharing their knowledge and guiding you through the basket weaving process. Once everyone has found the rhythm of the craft there is plenty of opportunity to share stories, ask questions, and even learn a little bit of language.

Come ready to slow down, listen, and learn.
