Join us in the afternoon and evening of July 13 for a festive Bal Musette at Kalyx! Celebrate French Bastille Day with lively accordion music, dancing, and great company. Come and be part of the celebration, everyone is welcome!

Julie Accordion brings a touch of Parisian elegance and European flair to the Kalyx Lounge Bar & Club. Specialising in French chansons, musette waltzes, and continental favourites, Julie sets the perfect tone for Bastille Day with her expressive playing and warm stage presence. Her performances evoke the romance of vintage Paris while adding a playful edge that fits seamlessly into the bar’s unique blend of bohemian and modern cool. She’ll be joined by Jim Zappia, a versatile guitarist known for his smooth, dynamic playing and effortless ability to shift between world music styles, pop and rock.

Julie Accordion is a charismatic performer known for her vibrant connection with audiences and her ability to turn any event into a warm, interactive experience. Whether she's gliding through the room with her accordion or perched in a cozy corner, Julie effortlessly engages guests with spontaneous song requests, playful banter, and a genre-spanning repertoire that includes French musette, Italian classics, and pop favourites. Her genuine joy in performing and inviting others into the moment makes each set feel personal and alive, creating a shared experience that lingers long after the final note.

Jim Zappia is multi-talented musician. As an instrumentalist guitar, flute, drums) and as a singer, he has entertained audiences all around Australia for more than two decades, whether fronting his own band, performing in concerts or in showbands bands.

As a singer, his long and varied career has seen him take part in countless concerts, functions, club events and festivals (including many 3-day Oktoberfests). With a clear, natural melodic voice, he reveals not only a love of music, but a clear understanding of the multitude of musical styles all the way from Swing and R ‘n’ R through to Contemporary/Pop and Latin. Jim has sung and played it all.
