Bat-El Papura

Bat-El Papura is an actress, writer, producer, and lecturer. She is, in her own words, a ‘tiny’ person – 48 inches tall. Born in Soviet Romania, she's lived most of her life in Israel, growing up in Kiryat Yam, a small suburb in the north of Israel. She volunteered with the IDF and served first as an army social worker before finding her true  calling as a broadcaster for Galei Tzahal, the IDF army radio station. She graduated from the Nissan Nativ Drama School in Tel Aviv, performed at the world-renowned Cameri Theatre and with the Gesher Theatre company, and had a major role in the international hit film The Matchmaker, directed by award-winning director Avi Nesher. She's had recurring roles in popular TV series like The Pajamas, Galis and Celebrations and presented at Israeli radio stations such as Galei Tzahal, Galgalatz and Echo 99fm. She is the sole creator and performer of the enormously successful and inspirational one-woman show I am Bat-El viewed by over one million people in Israel. For the past few years Bat-El has been touring the country with her show, sharing her exceptional, uncompromising journey to self-fulfillment and spirituality (life-wise and love-wise). Her artistic abilities and self-humor help her achieve great success. Bat-El's show is already part of the official curriculum in national schools and in the army and she is in high-demand as a lecturer at various universities as well as any place with a stage big enough to hold her.
