Description

Discover the secret world of bats with Dr Lisa Cawthen, Bat Ecologist from Faunatech, in an evening dedicated to these fascinating and often misunderstood creatures.

Join us for an engaging talk exploring everything bats. Learn why they play such a vital role in local and global ecosystems, the challenges they face in a changing world, and some of their most surprising behaviours and adaptations. From pollination and seed dispersal to insect control, bats are true environmental heroes working behind the scenes every night.

After the talk, head outdoors for a guided night walk to search for local bat species and listen in on their remarkable ultrasonic calls. Using specialist bat-detecting equipment, you'll gain a rare glimpse into the hidden lives of these creatures of the night.

Whether you're a wildlife enthusiast, an aspiring ecologist, a curious local or simply a Batman fan, this is a unique opportunity to experience the wonder of bats firsthand.

Suitable for ages 10+

This event includes a three kilometer walk, easy gradient.

We want to encourage the next generation of ecologists and nature lovers so every paid adult ticket entitles you to bring up to two children between the ages of 10-18 with you for free, however for us to manage numbers they must be registered with a free ticket when you check out.
