    Date: Saturday, 22nd March 2023

    Time: Sign On - 8:30am - Ride Out - 9.00am

    Venue: Bayview Day Area - German Church Road Redland Bay

    This ride leaves from Bayview Day Area located at German Church Rd., Redland Bay. Turn left into Mt. Cotton Rd. if travelling along Beenleigh Redland Bay Rd., through Loganholme. Then once on Mt. Cotton Rd. turn right at the traffic lights into Valley Way and at the 4th roundabout take the 3rd exit and in approx. 40 metres turn left and drive up the entrance to the car park. Once off the bitumen road leading into the large bitumen carpark turn right and park near the 2 tie up rails and mounting blocks on your right as this will keep you away from exiting vehicles. There is a manure bin a bit further away where any manure your horse may leave can be put so make sure you bring a container & shovel/rake. At the top of the carpark there are toilets and a small water trough.

    Duration: 4.5 hours riding with Moring tea / lunch breaks

    Food: BYO saddlebag for morning tea & Lunch on the trail bring plenty of drinking water.

    Bring Own: Halter & Lead Rope

    Terrain: There is one quite steep hill and and the surfaces vary from rocky to bare earth. Shod or booted horses recommended. An added attraction is to call in and see the remains of a very old stone hut where there is a sign telling of the history. This ride is approx.. 17 klms. Shod or Booted is recommended.

    Parking: Good Parking 

    There are 2 other large water troughs at the 2 huts – one situated at the Days Rd. entrance where there is a map of the trails and undercover seating and a tie up rail. Likewise the same on the other boundary of Bayview – on Native Dog Rd. 

    Ribbons: Green- New, nervous or unsure horses / Red - Kickers, or may kick

    ATHRA: - recommends the following.

    - Riders under 18 must wear an approved helmet

    - It is recommended that riders wear full length trousers and sleeved shirts. Suitable smooth soled riding footwear

    - Saddlebag for food / water

    - No dogs on ride
