A Night 20 Years in the Making!
BBFF’s 20th edition begins here - on the red carpet, among filmmakers, film lovers and special guests on this very special night.
Dress to impress - or express - as you make your entrance on the red carpet as we raise a glass to the filmmakers and stories at the heart of BBFF2026.
The evening begins with a Red Carpet Reception, bringing together audiences, filmmakers, special guests and on-screen talent from across this year’s program. Enjoy live music, wines from Bimbadgen Estate, BBFF’s Official Wine Partner, refreshing brews, Papa Salt Coastal Gin with Fever-Tree mixers, and quality non-alcoholic options for your designated driver.
Drinks will be accompanied by Tokyo Doll’s signature Japanese-fusion dishes before guests take their seats for the 8:00pm screening of our Opening Night film, The Fox.
After the credits roll, those with after-party tickets can head downstairs to Tokyo Doll, where the celebration continues with a DJ, karaoke and plenty to talk about after The Fox.

- Do I have to dress up?
Not at all. Opening Night is a special occasion and many guests enjoy dressing up, but there is no formal dress code. Dress to impress—or express—in whatever makes you feel comfortable and ready to celebrate.
- What does my Opening Night Gala ticket include?
Your ticket includes the Red Carpet Reception, live music, a selection of drinks, Japanese-fusion dishes from Tokyo Doll and the 8:00pm screening of The Fox. After-party access is included only where specified on your ticke
- Can I come just for the film?
No. The Fox is being presented as part of the complete Opening Night Gala and there is no film-only ticket. All Opening Night tickets include the Red Carpet Reception and screening; access to the after-party depends on the ticket type selected.
- Can dietary requirements be accommodated?
Please provide details of any dietary requirements when booking. We will do our best to accommodate common requirements, although we cannot guarantee that every dish will suit every dietary need.
- Do I need to print my ticket?
No. You can present the QR code on your phone for scanning when you arrive. Please have it open and ready to help keep entry moving smoothly.
- Will photographs be taken?
Yes. Opening Night will include red carpet, event and media photography. If you would prefer not to be photographed, please let a member of the BBFF team know when you arrive.
- Can I transfer my ticket to someone else?
Yes. If you can no longer attend, you can update the attendee details through the Manage Order link in your Humanitix confirmation email.
- What is the refund policy?
Refunds are available until seven days before the event, when final catering numbers and event commitments must be confirmed. Humanitix booking fees are non-refundable. After the refund period closes, tickets may be transferred to another person but are not refundable.
- Is the event accessible?
Please contact BBFF before the event if you have accessibility requirements so we can provide the most useful information and assist with your visit.
- Can I use my Companion Card?
As Opening Night is presented as a fully catered Gala package rather than a standard cinema session, complimentary Companion Card tickets are not available for this event. A ticket must be purchased for each attendee.
