BDD MDW 2026 Open Studios: NAYANA at BRUDI
Description
Step inside a working Brunswick fashion studio and experience the craft of contemporary millinery with NAYANA. This exclusive workshop offers a rare opportunity to learn directly from a designer working in slow fashion and traditional techniques.
Participants will explore the fundamentals of working with sinamay, a classic millinery material, and create their own personalised headpiece or fascinator to take home.
This is an ideal experience for fashion or design students, emerging creatives, or anyone curious about skilled making and the artistry behind handmade millinery.
Outside of workshop times, visitors are also welcome to explore the studio, discuss their own idea and learn more about Melbourne-based, Australian-made millinery.
This event is part of Melbourne Design Week 2026, an initiative of the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria
The Brunswick Design District (BDD) is a creative precinct supporting businesses, start-ups, designers, artists, makers, musicians, venues, and world-class education.
Supported through a partnership between RMIT University, Merri-bek City Council and Creative Victoria.
