BE PART OF THE CONVERSATION
Event description
Want to get your research out there for a general audience? Have an urge to respond constructively to news and current affairs? Feel you have an expert opinion that would help explain what’s going on in Aotearoa New Zealand and the world? Then come along to Te Moana Nui A Kiwa room in Rehua at midday on Tuesday 14 September to hear all about working with The Conversation. Every day, The Conversation publishes expert analysis and opinion by academic authors for a global readership, either via its own website and newsletters or via its many national and international media partners. It’s a unique platform that combines academic rigour with journalistic flair, and gives authors control of their own material. NZ Editors Finlay Macdonald and Veronika Meduna will be hosting a session to explain how The Conversation works, what they look for from authors, and how its powerful republication model can help scholars and researchers reach thousands, even millions of readers. Whether you’re already an author, like to be, or are simply curious, please join Finlay and Veronika for a fun and informative session. All schools, faculties and disciplines are welcome. Have a great idea for an article in The Conversation? Pitch your idea. Any questions about the visit to UC, please contact the UC Communications team.
