FAQs
- Can I come by myself?
Absolutely!
Many attendees will be coming on their own, and Be Social events are specifically designed to make it easy to meet new people in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Whether you're attending solo or with friends, you'll be made to feel included from the moment you arrive.
- What is the accommodation like?
We’ll be staying at Little Drifter Hostel, Melbourne in shared 4-bed dorm rooms.
Little Drifter is a modern, social-style hostel designed for travellers and group stays, with private ensuite bathrooms in each room and communal spaces that make it easy to meet people and relax between activities.Room preferences (e.g. friends together, female-only) can be requested, and we’ll do our best to accommodate, however allocation is subject to availability.
- Can I choose who I room with?
If you're attending with friends and would like to share a room, we'll do our best to accommodate requests where possible.
Room requests cannot be guaranteed but we will try to make suitable arrangements.
- How much luggage can I bring?
We recommend packing light for this trip.
Your total luggage allowance is:
1 x suitcase or large bag (up to 20kg)
1 x small backpack or day bag
This is enough for the full weekend and helps keep group travel, accommodation, and shared spaces easy and organised.
💡 Important note
We recommend bringing only what you can comfortably manage and keep organised within a shared dorm environment, as space is limited.
- How much spending money should I allow?
Most main experiences, accommodation, transport, breakfast, and one lunch are already included.
A good guide is $150–$300 spending money for the weekend depending on how you like to eat, drink, and shop.
This would typically cover:
additional meals not included
coffees / snacks
optional extras or personal spending
any transport outside of the CBD (Myki card)
transport outside included arrangements if needed
Some people will spend less, some more - it depends on your style of travel.
- Do I need travel insurance?
Travel insurance is not mandatory, however it is strongly recommended for all participants to cover unexpected situations such as illness, delays, or personal injury.
Being a domestic trip, it’s generally considered lower risk than international travel, but any decision not to purchase insurance would be at your own discretion.
Be Social is not responsible for any costs, losses, or disruptions incurred if you choose not to have insurance. - What should I pack?
