Be The Match for Cayden
Event description
CALLING ALL THOSE WHO ARE AGES 18-40. WE NEED YOU!
In 2020 at the age of 3, Cayden Addison was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) which is a high risk form of blood cancer. For the next 2 years, Cayden underwent chemotherapy, surgeries and a series of hospital stays. In 2022, he finished his treatments and went into remission; however, in February 2023, the cancer returned. He started chemotherapy again and a new gene therapy called CAR T-cell, but his latest bone marrow biopsy show evidence of leukemia cells. He needs a bone marrow donor. Cayden previously had a match, but it didn't work out and that donor is no longer on the registry.
From 12pm-3pm on June 2nd 2024, the Addison family will be partnering with Triple Crossing Beer in Midlothian to host a Be the Match event. All you have to do is show up, and get a simple cheek swab. That's it!
We hope that you can attend and bring the entire family and/or friends to grab a beer (if legal age) or some lunch while swabbing to save a life.
