Event description
A family-based activity discovering the wonders of Wreckers Beach in Cape Gantheaume Conservation Park and Wilderness Protection Area. Families or groups will discover and collect natural, and person made items and create a picture, a castle, or an art piece on the beach (an to leave on the beach). Ranger Mic will help select a winner for originality and ingenuity. Along the way you will discover and learn about many special things about Wreckers Beach.
The event is suitable for families of younger age and any visitors wishing to learn and enjoy the marine life at D'Estrees Bay.
WHAT TO BRING
- Beach shoes, thongs for walking on paths and sand
- Appropriate beach attire
- Clothes to suit the weather on the day, including sun hat and protection.
- Drinking water
- Cameras, binoculars, and phones. Please note we will ask you to turn your phones to silent for the event.
IMPORTANT
- Vehicle entry to the park is free for this Park of the Month event.
- NPWS aims to provide inclusive events and activities for all, however some of our events do have specific requirements for participants. Please see the activity description and accessibility information on the website to check if the event is suitable for you. If you require additional support to participate in the activity, please contact dew.parkofthemonth@sa.gov.au in advance.
- This event will be cancelled in the event of severe/wet weather warnings or a declared ‘Catastrophic‘ Fire Danger in the Kangaroo Island Fire Ban District
