Event description

Join BEACS and friends in celebrating the launch of his debut "Motel Maybe EP" release on Sunday the 4th of May at Cactus Room in Thornbury!

Featuring special guests Ellen James & the Waning Crescents, and Maxwell Brady, you'll be treated to a delightful afternoon of folk rock and psych pop.

A bit about the bands...

BEACS

Beacs is a Narrm/Melbourne-based singer-songwriter whose debut “Motel Maybe EP" features window-gazing melodies and introspective lyrics, exploring themes of unrequited love, navigating the modern world, and more. Channelling a mixture of classic pop and folk songwriting from The Beatles to Nico, Beacs’ sound reimagines the past to help make sense of the present.

ELLEN JAMES & THE WANING CRESCENTS

Narrm based group, Ellen James and The Waning Crescents bring forth authentic, melodic, strange folk. James's stories, sung intrinsically with strummed strings, melded with otherworldly harmonies and keys from Matilda O'Brien, bass wielded by Harry Watson and held in time with Brodie Casey on drums will take you on a journey through forgotten nostalgia, wonderment and merry chaos.

MAXWELL BRADY

Maxwell Brady and band is a psych / pop outfit hailing from Melbourne / Narrm via Geelong. Max released their debut album “Electric Troubadour” in March last year, a collection of songs spanning from over the many years that he has been playing and writing music. A little bit Syd Barrett, a little bit Mac DeMarco, totally Maxwell Brady.
