Awaken The Animal Within - Sydney Workshop

Event description

Are you ready to STRETCH, WRASSLE, and ROAR just like our animal ancestors?

Join us for a half-day workshop exploring movement, play-fighting, breathwork, and voice activation.

The bears taught humans how to enter into trance states. The shaman’s watched the bears as they navigated the seasons and universal cycles, entering into caves and dens, slowing their heart rate down to 8 beats per minute, and waiting out the cold winter before emerging in spring to teach their new cubs the ways of the bear.

STRETCH
Have you ever seen a bear doing yoga? or how about the classic image of the bear rubbing itself on a tree?Bears a huge creatures, big and strong, but also supple and soft. Mobility is so important and a regular stretching, mobility, and movement practice is essential for living a happy healthy life. In this part of the workshop we will be working through different stretching and self-massage techniques that Nathan uses everyday both in his own practice, and with clients.

WRASSLE
Do you wrassle? Did you wrassle with mum or dad when you were a kid? How about with your siblings? Wrassling is not wrestling, judo, or jiu jitsu, it’s not a fight or a competition either. It’s affectionate and fun freestyle play fighting designed for healing wounds around physical intimacy, conflict avoidance, and discomfort around aggression. These techniques are a culmination of almost 10 years of Jiu Jitsu training, many hours of body work, and lots and lots of cuddles, snuggles, and bear hugs.

ROAR
The oldest musical instrument ever found, dating back to 43,000 years is a flute made from the thigh bone of a cave bear. It is this resonance we will be exploring in this part of the workshop. Your voice is an incredibly advanced and powerful healing tool just waiting to be explored and fine tuned. Your ability to use your voice clearly and powerfully, to speak your truth with conviction, and to name your desires has a monumental effect on your external reality. The vibrations of sound that you create with your voice, resonating through your bones and out of your throat has the power to heal your body. These techniques come from years of cultivating the gift of the voice for storytelling, entering trance states, self-healing, and offering blessings.
