An unmissable tour with authentic Beat poets from the Bowery! You'll visit iconic Beat Generation locations and hear live poetry recited and sung. If you love the Beat Generation and want to truly experience its vibe, to travel back in time and soak up the Beats' energy and passion for life – to get in the groove – then Marcos de la Fuente and Annalisa Marí Pegrum will take you there.
Hear poetry by Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, Gegory Corso, Dianne di Prima, and Lenore Kandel as New York poets and translators Marcos de la Fuente and Annalisa Marí Pegrum lead you on an intoxicating tour of the Village during which you’ll discover the hidden secrets of a transformational cultural movement.
The White Horse Tavern, the Phoenix Bookshop, Cafe Bohemia, Esoteric Records and Nick’s Jazz Club will be some of the places where you’ll hear stories and poems spoken aloud, connecting you with the energy of these mythical hangouts and awakening the dormant memories of a generation that changed the world.
You will be led by poet and Kerouac Festival director Marcos de la Fuente and poet and Beat translator Annalisa Marí Pegrum, plus other poets from the Bowery.
