Beaujolais Nouveau Day!

It's the most wonderful time of the year! No, it's not Christmas...it's Beaujolais Nouveau Day!!! Every year on the 3rd Thursday in November, the highly anticipated release of the fresh, young wine from France is released GLOBALLY on this day, and legally not a moment before! 

In this wine we celebrate the new harvest, France, and French wine. I mean, wine truly does bring the world together, and this does in such a fun way! 

Beaujolais Nouveau is 100% Gamay from the region of Beaujolais, France, that has just been picked by hand and fermented for a mere 6-8 weeks before bottling using a method called "carbonic maceration". This leads to a young, fresh, juicy, and low tannic wine that in fact is still fermenting in the bottle when it reaches you, and should, by the way, always be a part of your Thanksgiving table. 

On Thursday, November, 20th we at Book + Bottle will bring you the Domaine Dupeuble NOUVEAU Beaujolais  from the famous importer Kermit Lynch, (Everything he brings to the world is amazing, and this will be no exception) produced by Ghislane Dupeuble, woman winemaker extraordinaire. 

Kermit Lynch describes Beaujolais Nouveau as a "celebration of the harvest just past, a preview of the new vintage in France, and a delicious drink, full of fruit and fizz and vim and vigor."
