      Panellists

      Dr. Delia Falconer, a Senior Lecturer in Writing, Editing, and Publishing and acting head of writing. She is the award-winning author of four books with works in both fiction and nonfiction genres, including novels and thought-provoking essays. Delia has also contributed significantly to the literary industry as a critic, awarded a Walkley Award in 2018 for Arts Criticism, a peer advisor, and judge for several prestigious awards, including the Age Book of the Year, the Stella Prize, and the NSW Premier's Literary Awards.

      Dr. Andrew Pippos, a Lecturer in Writing, Editing, and Publishing. He is a renowned writer of fiction and narrative nonfiction, with his novel 'LUCKY'S' shortlisted for the 2021 Miles Franklin Literary Award. He holds a doctorate in creative arts from UTS and has been a valuable educator in both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Andrew's works have been featured in prominent publications, and he has been a speaker at major literary events and conferences, including the Sydney Writers' Festival and The Adelaide Festival.

      Jane McCredie, an award-winning writer and journalist renowned for her insightful work on science and its impact on society. She is the author of Making Girls and Boys: Inside the Science of Sex and has edited The Best Australian Science Writing. Additionally, she founded the Quantum Words Festival, which celebrates science writing in Sydney and Perth. With a rich background as a former book publisher, Jane’s impressive career includes serving as the CEO of Writing NSW for ten years until 2023 and recently completing her term as the senior judge for the NSW Premier’s Literary Awards. Currently, she is pursuing a PhD in creative writing at UTS to work on a new book, teaching the industry-aligned publishing workshop subject in the Graduate Certificate, and engaging in freelance writing, curation, and public speaking.

      Amanda Esnaola Klafke,
       with over seven years of experience in business strategy and project management, is just a few days away from finishing her MA in Creative Writing at UTS. During her final year, she also volunteered as part of the Writers’ Anthology, where she assisted in the end-to-end publishing process, from blind selections and editing right through to the book launch. Her short memoir piece,Daddy’s Little Girls, was also published this year. This experience has led her to consider pursuing a full-time career as an editor.
