Becoming a Foster Carer with Barnardos (July 2020)
Event description
At Barnardos we believe all children and young people deserve caring families in which they can grow safely and shine bright. Unfortunately, not all children in New Zealand Aotearoa experience this. Now more than ever, we urgently need more passionate foster carers who truly want to make a difference in a young person’s life. Providing a home to tamariki and rangatahi in need is both challenging and truly rewarding.
If you were considering fostering or wondering how you could make a difference in a young person’s life, or feel you are fortunate enough to provide a safe and nurturing home to a child in need, then we invite you to register for our ‘Become a Foster Care Parent’ webinar on Thursday 9th July.
On this free-to-join webinar, you will learn about:
- Barnardos and our Foster Care Services
- How you can become a Foster Carer
- The application and assessment process
- The support services we provide to approved Foster Carers
Bring a curious mind and your questions. There are only 30 spots available, so be sure to register!
Barnardos celebrates diversity and welcome’s foster carers from all walks of life. Foster carers can be married, partnered or single. They can be working full-time, part time or be a stay-at-home parent. It is necessary to have a spare bedroom for a child in your care to call their own, however it is not necessary to own your own property to be able to foster.
NB. This is a presentation-only zoom hui, where all our cameras will be turned-off and only our presenters audio is activated. You will be able to ask your questions via the chat function.
