Advanced Varroa Management Workshop 

It is recommended that attendees have previously attended a Varroa Management workshop, completed the online Introduction to Varroa Management course via Biosecurity Online Training (Plant Health Australia), or have other significant background knowledge of Varroa. 

The National Varroa Mite Management Program is hosting eight training workshops across the country, specifically designed for commercial beekeeping businesses. These sessions will provide business owners with the latest insights on managing operations in the presence of Varroa. 

This FREE ONE-DAY workshop will cover: 

  • The impact of colony losses on commercial beekeeping businesses 
  • Strategies to improve business decision-making for managing Varroa and other crises 
  • How to develop an effective management plan 
  • Case studies from commercial beekeeping businesses successfully managing Varroa 
  • Preparing hives for pollination in a Varroa-affected environment and the pollination outlook 
  • Federal and state support services available for commercial beekeepers 

This workshop is tailored for business owners and operators in the beekeeping industry who need to adapt their practices to ensure sustainability and profitability in the face of Varroa. 

    Time: 9:00am - 3:00pm (Check in from 8:30am)

    Venue: The Grand Oaks Resort

    Morning tea and lunch provided. Dietary requirements will be met where possible.
