Event description

Did you know there are over 2000 species of native bees in Australia?  This school holidays we’re exploring all things bees in celebration of Spring; the blossoming of Silky Oak flowers and the Gagabalingu seasonal marker from the local 6 Seasons Cultural Calendar.

Brilliant Blooms

Learn about the importance of Silky Oak flowers and create a mini-pollinator mosaic with colourful enamelled flowers & butterflies.

Tuesday 23 & Thursday 25 September

Bee hotels

Learn about some of our wonderful native bees and where they live, then build a unique native bee hotel using a range of recycled and natural materials. 

Tuesday 30 September & Thursday 2 October

Thirsty Bees

Build a watering station for your local bees to safely enjoy this summer.   Then decorate your watering station with a hand painted bee pebble!

Tuesday 7 October & Thursday 9 October

Workshops are best suited for children aged  5+

Cost: $5 (+booking fee) per child.   Bookings essential.
Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
