    Come and learn about native plants and how you can create an urban paradise at home for native bees, butterflies and other essential pollinators!

    10:30am - 12:00pm (sold out)

    1:00pm - 2:30pm (tickets available)

    This relaxed, family-friendly event includes:

    • A tour of Chris Cashel’s beautiful urban native garden
    • Learning from pollination expert, Bianca Amato, as she delights you with the wonders of blue-banded bees and other pollinators in Adelaide
    • Making your own mini native bee hotel to take home
    • Screen printing your own limited edition ‘Pollinators of South Australia’ t-shirt (see note below)

    *participants are invited to bring a t-shirt or tote bag to screen print. Choose a light-coloured, plain, round-neck t-shirt without pockets or other embellishments. Clean second-hand t-shirts are welcome. The design, by Bianca Amato, can be seen here

    Chris Cashel is a native plant enthusiast with over 20 years of experience volunteering with Trees for Life. He is generously opening his garden to share his passion for growing natives in urban environments to create a cooler, greener and wilder Adelaide.

    Bianca Amato is a pollination ecologist, environmental educator, and PhD student. She is passionate about making ecological knowledge accessible to support wildlife in gardens. Her mission is to bridge the gap between scientific research and the public, empowering everyone to make a positive impact on the environment.
