Event description

We teach sewing rules, and then show you how to break them! Start the new year with a Beginners Adult Sewing Class, these classes run from 1:30-4pm and start Wednesday the 1st of May, going for 8 classes (last class 19th June). That's 20 hours of sewing goodness delivered to you weekly. This class is aimed at people who would like to significantly increase their sewing skills, and is perfect for people with no to limited sewing ability, a real 'back to basics' class.

Some of the skills and techniques we will be going through — machine use, simple construction techniques including different seams, hems and casings, pockets, zips (oooh yeah, ZIPS!)

All materials, patterns and use of equipment is included in course fee. Knowing how to sew really is a skill that keeps on giving. This 8 class (20 hour) beginner course is a small class (max. 6 students with 2 teachers) so that people will receive the assistance they need to significantly increase their sewing skills as a basis for upcycling clothing and textiles.
