Beginner Bike Service Course
Description
This is a four-week course for beginners only. It is perfect for those who absolutely know nothing about bikes and would like to learn. It’ll run every Saturday starting 22/8 and concluding 12/9. Each session will be from 12:30pm-2:30pm.
The course will cover the following over four weeks:
Tyres and wheels - changing wheels and punctures
Gears
Brakes
How to make sure your bike fits you! Plus some miscellaneous bits and bobs...
The Recyclery will provide all participants with a secondhand bike to work on during the duration of the program. Refurbishing these bikes helps us keep our community alive!
Later in the year, we will be hosting an intermediate bike service course. The details for that are TBC! Please email hello@canberraenvironment.org to express your interest.
Minors aged 15+ years can enrol in the course, however a parent/guardian will need to sign a physical copy of our Minors policy. This policy can be collected at The Recyclery workshop where the course will take place.
If you are a child under the age of 15, you can enrol in the course, however, you must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. If this is the case, only one ticket will need to be purchased as you will be working on the same bike.
If you would like to attend but are under extreme financial hardship, please reach out to director@canberraenvironment.org
