Beginner's Bikepacking Trip - Wentworth Falls to Glenbrook
Event description
Are you a cyclist interested in bikepacking, but you're not sure where to begin? Looking to make new friends and meet other riders in the Sydney cycling community? Look no further than this shop ride in the beautiful Blue Mountains.
An overnighter from Wentworth Falls to Glenbrook via Ingar campground, the route is a firm favourite among Omafiets staff and Sydney bikepackers. Day one traces the Tableland Rd along the escarpment, with lunch at McMahons Point overlooking Warragamba Dam, followed by Andersons firetrail through dense Eucalypt forest. We wrap up the day at the beautiful Ingar Campground after a rip-roaring descent to Bedford Creek. Day two begins with a steep (but rewarding!) climb to Murphys Glen, before we wind our way way down the Oaks firetrail towards the tranquil Jellybean Pools in the afternoon. A final short, paved ascent to Glenbrook closes out the ride. With accessibility via train at both the beginning and end of the ride and close proximity to the city, this is the perfect route to be introduced to the joys of bikepacking.
We anticipate starting the ride at approximately 9am on Saturday 1st of November, and concluding the ride around 5pm on Sunday 2nd.
