Beginner's Sewing Course

Welcome to the Beginners Sewing Course at Moreau Sewing Unlimited! Designed for both novices and those looking to refresh their skills, this course offers an introduction to sewing, from hand-stitching techniques to the basics of machine operation, clothing construction and alterations. Over 6 to 10 classes (on average), you will also learn essential troubleshooting of sewing machines, and eventually progress to creating a textile product. You will receive homework after every class to bring in for evaluation in your next class. Everyone learns at a different pace and style. Final Project: Construct a lined tote bag with a pocket using the skills learned throughout the course.

We are committed to making sure you get everything you need to complete the course project before you leave us. 

Course Completion

Upon successful completion of all stages and assessments, students will have the foundational skills needed for basic sewing projects and repairs, both by hand and with a sewing machine. This course serves as a stepping stone to more advanced sewing classes and projects.
