Beginner Skate Jam at the Edgar Centre

Join the Dunedin Skateboarding School for a family friendly beginner skateboard jam! There will be prizes, music, ramps and whole lot of fun. Get your tickets before they sell out!

Sessions

We have two session 2pm-3pm and 3pm-4pm. Please book for one session only (numbers are very limited!)

Prizes?

Courtesy of the great people at Pavement Store Dunedin we have boards, decks, trucks, apparel and stickers all to give away!

Splitting age groups

The area will be split into age categories so skaters are of similar sizes (note that wheels under children can result in strayed skaters - are trained instructors are there to prevent that though!)

Instructors

Supervisors are experienced skateboard instructors. There will be a first aid trained instructor on the court at all times.

Lessons

For skaters that have never ridden before, or who need to brush up on their basics, there is a 30 minute orientation lesson.

Parents Joining in?

We encourage parents to join in! This is a great time to hang out and learn something new with the young ones!

Protection

Bring a helmet (compulsory) if you have pads and wrist guards we encourage bringing them along also.

Boards

We have some board but if you have your own we encourage bringing them.

Injuries?

Injuries on skateboards happen. We have a first aid kit and a first aider on site. Usually a quick time out and some magic ice spray is all that is needed though!

Entry Fee

There is a $2.50 entry fee for kids, paid at the Edgar Centre entry. For adult skaters it is a $5.00 fee. For carers/parents entry is free.
