Beginner Contemporary Dance with HK Vermeulen
Have fun learning new dance techniques and basic phrases.
Tuesdays 2nd November to 7th December
6.30pm - 7.30pm

Each week, sessions start with a warming up, connecting with body and doing basic improvisation. and then moving on to learning contemporary dance techniques and phrase work.
Phrases are built on each week, with further movements and sometimes more complex movements as the group
progresses.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
H.K. Vermeulen is a non-binary, contemporary dance and performance artist based in Hobart, holding a Bachelor of Arts from UTAS. They champion DRILL Performance’s creative work in schools, heading up programs state-wide.
H.K. has performed Australia-wide at various festivals and events including Falls Festival, Splendour in the Grass,
and Nayri Niara. They run their own drag performance company, The Haus of Trash, hosting regular events across
Hobart. They also enjoy running dance workshops and events for others to discover and express their
individuality.
