Class Name: Beginners Pottery – Monday Evenings

Introduction:
Embark on a creative journey in pottery with our guided beginners course. Whether you're stepping into pottery for the first time or eager to refine your foundational skills, this class is designed to nurture your creativity and build your confidence in working with clay. Through hands-on projects and personalised guidance, you'll explore essential pottery techniques and bring your artistic ideas to life.

What You'll Learn:

  • Fundamental Pottery Techniques: Discover pinch pots, slab building, and coil construction.

  • Assembly Techniques: Master slip and score methods to securely join clay pieces.

  • Project Development: Receive expert tips on designing and executing your pottery ideas.

  • Functional and Sculptural Design: Learn practical skills to craft both functional and artistic ceramic pieces.

By the End of the Course, You Will:

  • Build Confidence: Gain proficiency in essential pottery techniques.

  • Realise Your Ideas: Bring your creative visions to fruition through guided practice.

  • Design with Clarity: Learn a structured approach to pottery design and construction.

  • Approach New Projects: Develop the skills and confidence to tackle future pottery projects independently.

  • And: Have the option to return for a glaze workshop

This class is perfect for adults who are new to pottery or looking to strengthen their foundational skills.

Location: Woolgoolga Gallery, 73 Turon Parade, Woolgoolga
Time: 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM
Duration: 8 weeks, Weekly on Monday evenings from July 28th to September 15th

Cost: Member $245 / Non-Member $255
Required Materials: Clay, Pottery Tools (available for purchase from the tutor)
Note: Materials, including clay and glaze, are not provided but are available for purchase. Firing services are available at an additional cost through WAG.

About the Tutor:
Luke Ford is a seasoned ceramic artist and educator with a passion for pottery. He holds a Diploma of Ceramics and a Cert IV in adult education, bringing a wealth of knowledge and a supportive teaching style to his classes. Luke's commitment to fostering creativity and skill development ensures an enriching learning experience for beginners and seasoned enthusiasts alike.
