As women we face unique challenges in both business and as a female founder or aspiring one. And you deserve more! That’s exactly why we're on a mission to change the narrative. 

Join us for a frank and open panel discussion as our trailblazing panel share their stories about getting started, their journey to date and the challenges they have faced along the way, in a conversation led by our panel moderator, Behind the Brands Founder, Megan Del Borrello. 

Afterwards we'll open up the floor for questions. 

This event is of course open to anyone, women & men, leaders and supporters with a shared perspective, anyone who supports to the growth of women in business.

        Grace Mugabe CPA is an experienced Management Accountant and CEO of Financially Empowered, a for-purpose enterprise that empowers women by equipping them with financial literacy skills. Her business is driven by two of the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals – Gender Equality and Quality Education. Financially Empowered provides small business CFO services, financial education training and systems implementation services training to women led enterprises.

        In the 2019, Grace was a finalist in the Women in Finance Awards for the ‘Women’s Community Program of the Year’ recognizing her Money Matters for Migrants initiative. She has previously been awarded a grant & scholarship from the Layne Beachley Foundation to help her create financial literacy workshops and resources for migrant women in Australia. In addition, she was finalist in the 2017 United Nations Association of Australia (WA) ‘Excellence in Gender Equity Promotion’ Award.

        A committed advocate for community involvement, Grace has served on numerous boards, including 100 Women, Ishar Multicultural Women’s Centre and Business Station. She is also an ambassador for Behind the Brands, a community for female entrepreneurs in Australia.

        Sophie Doyle
        is the CEO and Creative Director of Alf the Label, an Australian designed accessories brand that offers stylish and affordable luxury bags and accessories to millennial parents.

        Solely self-funded and in only five short years, Sophie has built Alf the Label into a highly successful seven-figure business with a loyal community of more than 45,000 Australian parents.

        Sophie, who holds a post-graduate certificate in Communications, specialising in creative services, led Alf the Label to be named a finalist in the Small Business category at the nationwide MyBusiness Awards in 2019. In 2020, She won gold for a changing bag design at the UK Junior Design Awards, and in 2021 Sophie was named as one of Western Australia’s top 40 Under 40 business people by WA Business News.

        In the past two years Sophie has also worked as a 1:1 mentor to numerous small business owners both Australia-wide and in the UK, assisting them to grow their own e-commerce and services based businesses.

        Alison Welsh is the Co-founder and CEO of Frogponds Software. Alison has a Bachelor of Education with Honours and completed her research thesis focusing on equality with a social impact.

        Her big picture thinking and requisite to question the way we do things is what led to the conception of Frogponds Software. Founded nearly three years ago Frogponds Software simplifies the sourcing process for Education and Social Enterprise Organisations. Created as a connector between buyers and providers, Frogponds is a rapidly expanding national platform.

        Being a completely female founded tech company within a highly male dominated space brings unique challenges which Alison and her Co-Founder Jodie Rybicki have tackled with enthusiasm, perseverance and a sense of humour.
