Behind The Seams | Marla Hattabaugh
Description
Behind The Seams of...
The Art of Textile and Print Design
Featuring:
Marla Hattabaugh - Quilter & Textile Surface Design Artist
Come join us for the next monthly Behind The Seams, an intimate conversation series with fashion industry rockstars.
This month...
Marla Hattabaugh will share her journey, her work, insider techniques, and lead a hands-on mini quilting workshop during the event.
Each of Marla’s quilts are a culmination of 50 years of collecting, working, and reworking textile scraps in her home studio! She machine pieces and hand sews each quilt, working with unique hand-processed fabrics dyed using Procion MX, silk screened, deconstructed, painted, and stamped into one-of-a-kind projects. Each piece of art takes a very long time to complete, resulting in a rich, textured look that often incorporates giraffe motifs and other lighthearted imagery. Marla has been featured in numerous quilting and art shows and offers classes in her home studio to inspire the next generation of textile surface design enthusiasts.
