Description

This presentation by researchers from WestPride Archives explores the early history of the Gay Olympics in Perth and the reason they started. In 1979 a ‘hand bag throwing’ competition was only one of the many Gay Olympics events raising money for an important WA institution.

In 1994 Team Perth, part of a combined Australian team attended the Gay Olympics in New York.

Come along to hear how the Gaymes began in WA.
