Being Stewards: On Nature & Philosophy (Brisbane 2025)
Event description
Curious to discuss nature, environmental ethics, and sustainability with philosophers? Join us for an engaging and thought-provoking exploration of what it means to be (better) stewards of nature and our shared future.
This event offers a friendly, interactive space to reflect on big ideas about our relationship with the natural world. Through lively conversations and activities, we’ll explore how philosophy can help us think about our responsibilities to our country and the planet. Whether you’re new to these questions & ideas or have been pondering them for years, whatever your age or background: there’s something here for everyone. Our seminar is designed to spark meaningful conversations and inspire you to consider what reasons we have to care for our environment and how we might do it better.
Just bring your curiosity and an open mind. We'll provide all materials – as well as tea, coffee, and light refreshments to keep you energised :)
Come and connect with like-minded others, share your thoughts, and discover a range of philosophical perspectives.
This event is organised by the Philosophy in the Community Committee of the Australasian Association of Philosophy, in the lead-up to this year's AAP Conference at the University of Queensland.
