2PG presents.... BELLINGEN: THE PROMISED LAND

Bellingen the Promised Land chronicles what happened when a small dying dairy town was invaded by hippies and alternative life stylers in the 1970’s and 80’s.

Retired journo Peter Geddes and his young family settled in the main street of a largely moribund Bellingen in the early 1970s, opening The Good Food Shop grocery store and chronicling their adventures with countless photographs and home movies.

50 years later Geddes found the footage in a banana box and joined forces with veteran editor Peter Gailey to produce this feature length documentary on how Bellingen became the niche country town it is today.
