Belmont Desalination Plant-Supply Chain Forum

Join us on the 8th of May at Belmont Golf Club for an insightful discussion on the Belmont Desalination Plant and its impact on local suppliers.

The permanent desalination plant at Belmont is set to contribute up to 30 million litres per day of rainfall-independent water supply to the Lower Hunter’s water system, meeting about 15% of the region’s daily water needs. This addition will bolster the region's water supply diversity, enhancing overall system resilience and enabling Hunter Water to support customers and communities regardless of climate or system shocks.

What's in it for Lake Macquarie businesses?

The design and construction of the permanent Belmont Desalination Plant represent an investment of $530 million by Hunter Water and will create approximately 215 full-time equivalent jobs during the construction phase, providing a lasting asset for future generations.

Ongoing maintenance is crucial for the plant's efficient and reliable operation. By addressing these needs, desalination plants can optimise operational efficiency, prolong equipment lifespan, ensure water quality, and meet regulatory requirements for sustainable water production.

How can local businesses participate?

Join us to hear from the team involved in building the plant, including John Holland, Australia, and New Zealand’s leading integrated infrastructure company. Gaining insights into the project will help your business assess potential opportunities from construction to the ongoing life of the project.
