Event description

Explore identity and creative expression in this free five-week art workshop series for LGBTQIA+ young people.

Each week, you’ll develop your own artwork around the theme “Belonging in Ballarat”, with guidance from two local LGBTQIA+ artist-mentors in a welcoming and inclusive space. Some materials will be provided, but if you have particular ones you love using, please bring them along. All skill levels are welcome, no prior art experience needed.

 

Week 1 Explore the Y Ballarat’s youth art exhibition and get to know each other. Located at Barkly Square.

Week 2 - 5 Work with local artists Jay Kulbardi and Annelise Belladonna to develop your artwork with their mentorship. Located at the Ballarat Library.

Who: LGBTQIA+ young people aged 12–25

Date: Weekly from Wednesday 24th September until Wednesday 22nd October 2025

Time: 5:30 – 7pm

Location: Ballarat Library

Free – registration needed. Please commit to all five weeks


If you are under 16 please seek permission from your parents or guardian to attend this event.

This is a youth friendly event. No drugs, alcohol, violence or sexual content is permitted.
