BEMAC Live - I.Rugamba: Broken Shackles
Event description
'Broken Shackles' is a live music and dance program that doubles as a motivational experience, curated by the talented, dynamic and globally-inspired I.Rugamba (Eric Kagorora). Through a collection of carefully crafted songs and engaging narratives, this unique show addresses the often-ignored subject of men's mental health and encourages open dialogue and healing.
By addressing personal struggles openly, I.Rugamba creates a musical space that encourages men to break free from societal expectations, fostering healthier emotional landscapes. The performance is a captivating blend of emotions, fostering an environment where audiences can relate, reflect, and find inspiration. The music's universal themes make it accessible to diverse audiences, making it a potential catalyst for important conversations about mental health within communities.
Born in Rwanda and currently based in Australia, Eric has seamlessly blended his talents as a dancer, trained dance educator, and singer/songwriter, shaping a career that spans nearly 27 years, across continents and cultural landscapes. As a trained dancer and dance educator, Eric shares the richness of traditional and contemporary African movement.
